How do you explain what just happened? Declaring that members of the military
will no longer be asked to lie, President Barack Obama fulfilled a campaign
promise Wednesday and signed a landmark law repealing the ban on gay men and
women serving openly in the armed services. - By PAULINE JELINEK, Associated
Press 12/22/12 Collectivist
form of government Democracy: A system in which the
collective will of the majority is considered absolute. Property may be owned
collectively or privately. It is dominated by political activists and
financial interests who mobilize majority groups to exercise control over
minority groups on specific issues. Degenerates into Oligarchy as the most
successful manipulators consolidate their wealth and position. (Any of this
sound familiar?) Individualist
form of government Republic: (What
the United States is supposed to be) A system in which a
charter (our Constitution) defines certain rules and limitations on the will
of the majority, safeguarding individual and minority group rights. Most
property is owned privately rather than collectively. The upper levels of the
hierarchy are selected by and accountable to the public, and their power is
limited by the charter. Degenerates into Oligarchy as the charter is
gradually bypassed, and power and property are concentrated. (Any of this
sound familiar?) Do
you want to live in a
society with a collectivist form of government, or do you want t live in a
society with an individualist form of government? Today our Republic prevailed. The
minority rights of gays and lesbians were protected, however, if we lived in
a true democracy, where the majority ruled over the rights of the minority,
the rights of the minority would not have prevailed. Confusing isn’t it? In America the Democrat Party is the
single largest promoter of collectivism, Healthcare Reform, yet the Party
seems to carry the banner for gay and lesbian rights, an issue that is really
protected by our Republic, which is described as an individualist form of
government. The Healthcare Reform Law is the largest
piece of collectivist law ever passed by our Government and it was passed
solely by democrats. So what gives?
How do you know who to vote for to achieve your idea of what type of society
you want to live in and provide for the future? The issues that are the most contentious
and divisive are social issues and no one Party seems to own the right to
carry the banner of saying they solely represent the Constitution of the
United States and stand for and will protect the rights guaranteed to each
individual as stated in the Constitution. Instead of saying they stand for
individual rights or collective rights they keep us confused by taking and
promoting positions that don’t seem to fit their definitions, or maybe they
do. “Progressives” believe things should
change and they look at change as the rule of life, however, “conservatives”
believe things should remain unchanged and the status quo should rule. But,
unfortunately, not all progressives belong to one party and not all
conservatives belong to the other party.
Some politicians are socially progressive and fiscally conservative or
vice a versa leaving all of us confused. It seems that either one party or the
other will co-opt a social issue and champion its cause. For instance, now
you have the Democrats saying Jesus was a social liberal when the social conservatives
have always championed religion. This
is why I believe the debate must change.
Social issues will all fall in place once the type of government we
want is decided. Since
the 1890s, the Democratic Party has favored liberal positions (the
term "liberal" in this sense describes social liberalism,
not classical liberalism). So
what’s the difference between “social liberalism” and “classical
liberalism”? I thought liberalism equaled
socialism? Turns out it does but only “social liberalism” does, “classical
liberalism” is nearly identical to “individualism”. Classical liberalism is a philosophy committed to the ideal of limited
government and liberty of individuals including freedom of religion, speech,
press, assembly, and free markets. In the late 19th century,
classical liberalism developed into neo-classical liberalism, which argued
for government to be as small as possible in order to allow the exercise of
individual freedom. In its most extreme form, it advocated Social Darwinism.
“Libertarianism” is a modern form of “neo-classical liberalism”. Social Liberalism is the belief that liberalism should include social justice. It differs
from classical liberalism in that it recognizes a legitimate role for the
state in addressing economic and social issues such as unemployment, health
care, and education while simultaneously expanding civil rights. Under
social liberalism, the good of the community [collectivism] is viewed as
harmonious with the freedom of the individual. Social liberal policies have
been widely adopted in much of the capitalist world, particularly following
the Second World War. Social liberal ideas and parties tend to be considered
centrist or centre-left. The term "social
liberalism" is often used interchangeably with "modern liberalism". The Liberal
International is the main international organization of liberal parties,
which include, among other liberal variants, social liberal parties. It
affirms the following principles: human rights, free and fair elections and
multiparty democracy, social justice, tolerance, social market
economy, free trade, environmental sustainability and a strong sense of
international solidarity. Social justice is based on the concepts of human rights and equality and involves a
greater degree of “economic egalitarianism” (redistribution of wealth)
through progressive taxation, income redistribution, or even property
redistribution. These policies aim to achieve what developmental economists
refer to as more equality of opportunity than may currently exist in some
societies, and to manufacture equality of outcome in cases where incidental
inequalities appear in a procedurally just system. Economic
egalitarianism
is a state of economic affairs in which equality of outcome has been
manufactured for all the participants of a society. It is a founding
principle of various forms of socialism, communalism and cooperative economic
organization. (Wikipedia) So
today’s Democratic Party member is subscribing to a “social liberal”
philosophy that believes the state should play a large role in providing
social justice for the good of the community verses the individual through
the redistribution of the wealth. This is COLLECTIVISM. Definition of CONSERVATIVE: (Merriam Webster) 1:
preservative 2a: of or relating to a philosophy of conservatism b
capitalized: of or constituting a political party professing the principles
of conservatism: 3a: tending or disposed to maintain existing views,
conditions, or institutions: traditional b: marked by moderation or caution
<a conservative estimate> c: marked by or relating to traditional norms
of taste, elegance, style, or manners Synonyms: archconservative, brassbound,
button-down (or buttoned-down), die-hard, hidebound, moss backed,
old-fashioned, old-line, old-school, orthodox, paleoconservative,
reactionary, standpat, traditional, traditionalistic, ultraconservative,
unprogressive Antonyms: broad-minded, large-minded,
liberal, nonconservative, nonconventional, nonorthodox, nontraditional,
open-minded, progressive, unconventional, unorthodox American
conservatism: US President Abraham Lincoln wrote
that conservatism is "the adherence to the old and tried, against the
new and untried." US president Ronald Reagan, who was a self-declared
conservative, is widely seen as a symbol of American conservatism. In an
interview, he said "I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is
libertarianism." Modern American conservatism was largely born out of alliance
between classical liberals and social conservatives in the late
19th and early 20th centuries. Classical
liberalism (as stated above) is a philosophy committed to the
ideal of limited government and liberty of individuals including freedom of
religion, speech, press, assembly, and free markets. Social conservatism is the view that government should play a role in
encouraging or enforcing traditional values or behaviors. In the US, social
conservatives emphasize traditional views of social units such as the
family, church, or locale. While many religious
conservatives believe that government should have a role in defending moral
values, libertarian conservatives such as Barry Goldwater advocated a
hands-off government where social values were concerned. (Wikipedia) The Republican Party is one of the
two major contemporary political parties in the United States, along with the
Democratic Party. Founded by anti-slavery expansion activists in 1854, it is
often called the Grand Old Party
(GOP). The party's platform
generally reflects American conservatism in the U.S. political spectrum and
is considered center-right, in contrast to the more "liberal" or
"progressive" Democrats. Founded in
northern states in 1854 by anti-slavery activists, modernizers, ex-Whigs and
ex-Free Soilers, the Republican Party quickly became the principal opposition
to the dominant Democratic Party. It first came to power in 1860 with the
election of Abraham Lincoln to the Presidency and oversaw the American Civil
War and Reconstruction. (Wikipedia) I believe that the present day Democrat Party will bring an end to our
Republic and make the United States a collectivist nation and if that is what
you want, then you have a home within the Democrat Party. I believe that libertarian conservatism, with a hands-off government where
social values are concerned, just as was advocated by Barry Goldwater, would
provide a government as close to resembling an individualist form of
government that this nation was designed to be. And it appears that path
could be carved out of the Republican Party. Bill Wink © December 22, 2010 Return

Agenda 21 is not the “Bill of Rights”.
It is not “The Declaration of Independence”. And it is not the “U.S. Constitution”. It has never been decided on by the
American people that “Agenda 21” should be our new bible. Our guiding light into the 21st
century. It is being pushed on us by a
bunch of self righteous elitist like Nancy Pelosi. It empowers those who agree and
indoctrinates those who do not, and you are going to think you are having a
bad dream when it comes into your home. |
Casper Wink,
married to Gertrude Kemp, was also one of the early settlers. They reared six
children; Catherine, the eldest daughter, born in 1728, and Theobald, the
eldest son, in 1733. The latter was the father of sons named Philip, John,
Peter, Jacob (a Revolutionary soldier) and Dewalt. His daughters married Isaac
Roberts, Jacob Levan, John Heidenreich (father of Judge Wm. S. Heidenreich),
John Hausman and Daniel Kemp. A brother of Theobald Wink, John Peter, born in
1745, went to the Revolutionary War and never returned. Dewalt Wink, son of
Theobald, born in 1776, was married to a daughter of George A. Fister, also a
Revolutionary soldier, and who was the grandfather of Colonel Thomas A. Fister.
He was the father of eleven sons and two daughters, among the former being John
G. Wink, of Kutztown. Casper Wink was a Catholic and a faithful colonist, having
his allegiance certified, which reads as follows:
"I hereby certify that Casper Wink, of Berks County, State of
Pennsylvania, hath voluntarily taken and subscribed the oath of allegiance and
Fidelity, as directed by an Act of General Assembly
of Pennsylvania, passed on the 13th day of June A.D. 1777.
"Witness my hand and seal, the 26th day of May, A.D. 1778.
Peter Trexler, Esq."
